A collection of
over 20 walks ranging from 2½ to 10½ miles covering a total
of 100 miles through the best of the local landscape, with sights spanning
thousands of years of history. The diversity of landscape is extraordinary,
from ancient tracks to remnants of industrial past, and from woodland haven
to an expansive saltmarsh. The author’s careful research points you
in the direction of many interesting and unusual features seen along each
route.
The walks are also accompanied by a start/finish point, route map and directions,
distance, level of difficulty, general walking conditions, and a suggested
place to stop for well-earned refreshments.
The author has a strong interest in landscape, having studied geology,
landscape history, and ecology; he is currently studying for an MA in Landscape,
Heritage and Society.
