In this follow-up to Norman Buckley's first collection
of level Lakeland walks, there are a further 26 circular walks which combine
minimum effort with maximum reward.
All of the routes start at a parking area so that you are
immediately walking in the hills - but without walking up them. Norman has made
a particular point of exploring less well-known but undoubtedly attractive fringe
areas so the scenery is surprisingly varied. While these walks are not long
strenuous slogs, Norman is keen that walkers should take time to fully appreciate
their surroundings. In keeping with this relaxing philosophy, picnic spots,
refreshment stops and places of interest are highlighted along the way.
Each walk includes detailed instructions, clear maps and
photographs to inspire. Concise introductory notes allow instant assessment
of a walk's suitability - gradients, distance and conditions at a glance.
Norman Buckley lives in the Lake District and has been
an enthusiastic walker for many years. This is the seventh book for Sigma Leisure
with which he has been involved.
