35 Really Good Walks Review

The Keswick Reminder

Peter Bowker is a very experienced fell-walker who, since his retirement now lives in South Lakeland. The walks, which all visit at least one 'Wainwright' summit, have been specifically chosen to appeal particularly to those who prefer to travel at a leisurely pace on straightforward routes which avoid more challenging and demanding situations.

  • Use interesting routes which provide the easiest walking and avoid exposed positions, excessively steep or rough ground and other difficulties.

  • Are between three and ten miles long and visit a good mix of both higher and lower tops spread across the National Park.

  • Have no loss of walk quality when quieter routes and less well-known paths arc used.

  • Include a brief description of each outing, it key statistics, reliable guidance regarding parking and locally available facilities, and an out line location and orientation map.

The photographs are in black and white only which is reflected in the reasonable price of this well-structured and useful guide.
