  • Beginning at Whitby the walk traverses the North York Moors, the Vale of York, the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Yorkshire Dales and the northern edge of the Forest of Bowland, before finishing with a short hop through Lancashire at its narrowest point to reach Morecambe on the West coast. The walk has been divided into seventeen stages, varying in length from less than four to around 15 miles that can be combined to suit individual tastes.
