The South Pennines covers an easily accessible area within one hour of where seven million of us live. It is packed full of wonderful moorland, industrial archaeology, ancient stone carvings, peaceful canals and picturesque villages. The landscape is varied and rugged but also a friendly and accessible training ground for beginner and more competent navigators alike. The walks are of different lengths and are grouped by navigation level. You are introduced to simple techniques gradually and have lots of opportunity to try things out with practical in-field activities.
