About the Author:
Christopher Mitchell obtained an honours degree in zoology and psychology and an MSc for his research in insect behaviour. He has worked as an Assistant Warden at Eskdale Youth Hostel and as an Assistant Instructor at the Eskdale Outward Bound Mountain school. In 1979 he founded the first private Field Study Centre on the Isle of Skye, where be has been leading field groups for over 20 years.
