Walking guide to the County Tops of Wales, the North of England and the Isle of

There are many hill walking challenges in England and Wales, they include visiting the top of every one of the Lake District peaks or the summits of all the mountains over 2000 feet, but the one that is accessible to all, is to stand on the high point of a county or several counties. It is the option that is closest to home. Be it one of the historic counties or one of those which was created by the major local government reforms of 1974 and 1996.

Howard Mann spent 42 years in the food industry, retiring as President and CEO of McCain Foods Ltd. He was awarded the O.B.E. for services to the Food Industry. During a busy career he relaxed by walking national trials and in the mountains of the U.K. and Canada. In retirement, having completed the challenges of standing on the summit of all of the mountains in Alfred Wainwright's volumes and of the 2000 foot mountains of England and Wales, he turned his attention to all of the County high points of England
and Wales.
